Mobile Crane

This versatile mobile crane is used for both indoor and outdoor jobsites and features a telescoping boom and a load deck for material handling. Handling loads at extreme heights while maintaining efficiency and safety is a demanding job. Operator sight lines are important, as well as tactile feedback when the winch is in motion. The initial machine design used all hydraulic controls, with limited proportionality, to move the boom and winch.

GSNA provides smooth, electro-hydraulic proportional controls technology and custom CAN switch panels integrated into the armrest provide safe, ergonomic, proportional controls for this application. Engine horsepower is now monitored via J1939 CAN communication and controlled with the master controller, resulting in improved fuel efficiency. A thumper handle is often included to provide tactile feedback to the operator when the winch is in motion. Also, a complete Load Moment Indication system is achieved by integrating sensors and feedback devices with the master controller. Through effective and coordinated use of interlocks and event monitoring, the operator is immediately notified of an unsafe condition through multiple visual, auditory, and tactile feedbacks. With the monitoring and diagnostic capabilities of this new control solution, machine owners experience a substantial increase in safety, machine uptime, productivity and greater return on investment.
